My Review:

5 out of 5

I started this book thinking “I’ll just read a chapter”… I read the whole thing! I just fell in love with everything about it.

I love period dramas, however, I’ve never really been a fan of romance novels, I usually find them predictable and too cliche. Yes this is a romance novel, but the author manages to avoid cliches and the usual predictable plot twists to show what real love is, what it should be.

I instantly fell in love with the characters, as we follow three love stories throughout this book, each couple a perfect match, in their own unique way. The characters are well described and their personalities resonate with me.

I cannot wait to start reading the next book in this series.

Perfect for adults and some young adults (I’d give an age range of 14+) who enjoy:

  • Period dramas
  • Love tales that manage to avoid cliche
  • Relatable characters
  • An easy-to-read bu enjoyable story

My ratings:

  • Easy to read: 5 out of 5
  • Characters: 5 out of 5
  • Story idea: 5 out of 5
  • Length: 5 out of 5
  • Overall: 5 out of 5

About the Author:

Anne is an avid reader and writer of historical fiction. Her favourite periods to research are the early 20th Century, and the War Years, though she is drawn to the Victorian era too! She is meticulous about the details in her books, ensuring they are true to the historical time in which the story is set. Anne particularly enjoys writing about the ordinary working folk of the time. Of course, her favourite genre is romance, and her books all have this as a central theme. The stories are sweet and wholesome and appeal to a wide audience.
